6 Freedom fighters who studied abroad

    India’s independence was no simple matter; it required numerous heroic uprisings and movements, which ultimately resulted in the freedom we enjoy today. Ever questioned who was thinking it up? You might be astonished to learn that several of our most well-known liberation fighters attended reputable universities abroad and were the brains behind the independence struggle that changed the course of history. They had an advantage over others because they studied abroad. For the benefit of the nation, they established a separate viewpoint and put it into practice. The well-known fighters who completed their studies abroad are listed below:

    1. Subhash Chandra Bose

    Every Indian lives by the words of Subhash Chandra Bose, “Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom.” The Indian National Army and Azad Hind government founders were considered the greatest liberation fighters in history. Netaji attended Presidency College and Fitzwilliam College, studying for the Civil Service Exam and Tripos in Mental and Moral Sciences. Bose participated in Cambridge Union Society debates and the Cambridge Majlis while he was a student in the UK.

    2. Mahatma Gandhi

    Through his nonviolent efforts like the Satyagraha, Ahimsa, and Khadi movement, the Father of the Nation shook the British empire. Gujarat is where Mahatma Gandhi was born, and India is where he finished his studies. He eventually went to study overseas and rose to fame as a lawyer. He earned his law degree from University College London, one of the most prestigious universities in the world. In addition to studying law in London, he also attended the Public Speaking Forum, which aided him in developing his oratory skills. After earning his law degree, he passed the University of London examination as well. After studying in the UK, his command of the English language improved significantly.

    3. B R Ambedkar

    Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was an Indian jurist, economist, social reformer, political figure, and lawyer. Famous figure with political science, economics, law interests.He obtained numerous degrees from Indian and international universities. He earned his PhD from Columbia University (US) and was one of the few Indians to accomplish so in the 1920s. He acquired his doctorates in 1923 and 1927. In addition to this, he completed an MSC at the London School of Economics in the UK and studied economics at the University of Bonn in Germany. Wait! He received his legal education at Gray’s Inn in London, continuing the long list.

    4. Jawahar Lal Nehru

    Nehru was a leading figure in the freedom movement and a supporter of democracy, science, and technology. Prime Minister of India’s innovative ideas were fueled by international degrees, including Harrow School and overseas courses.Nehru studied law at Inner Temple in London after earning his bachelor’s degree in natural sciences from Trinity College, Cambridge. Along with being active in the liberation movements, he also rose to fame as a writer, publishing works like The Discovery of India and Letters from a Father to His Daughter.

    5. . Varahagiri Venkata Giri

    The previous president of India, V.V. Giri, was a well-known lawyer who studied law at University College Dublin (UCD), in Ireland. Giri was one of the top 13 students who completed the required one-year study at UCD in the early 1915s. In addition to others, Giri pursued a Bachelor of Art degree at UCD. During his studies, he participated actively in both Irish and Indian politics.
